Hand-Squeezed Objects

October 2019

Squeezed clay

Hand Squeezed Objects is a session for babies and toddlers run by Leah and Joanne. Run periodically, this workshop introduces the under 4s to the joys of making through feeling, squeezing and mixing different coloured clays to make ceramic objects that capture the imprints of their tiny hands. The squeezed pieces of clay can then be turned into lightpulls, drawer handles or pendants, or left as palm-sized sculptures, before being fired and glazed ready for use. This is a playful session that encourages young children to explore new textures and sensations.

“Took my son to the hand squeezed session for toddlers today. It was really well organised and my son had fun. I hope more sessions are run in future. Thanks again!”
